The client had requested Newsome Ltd, to undertake an overhaul of the existing, process cooling tunnels, cooling system. As part of the works, Newsome also designed, supplied, and installed a new enclosure. Whilst the focus of the project concentrated on reducing tunnel temperatures and hence product quality, both efficiency and hygiene also played a big part in the projects design and supply.
Analysis
The entire turnkey project ran over a three-week line shutdown and was completed within the time frame and on budget. The client has since provided early feedback, that the plant is consistently running at design set point temperature and consequently, with a consistent good quality product output and is showing at least a 20% reduction in energy consumption.
