Emergency Boiler Hire Ensures Seamless Operations at a Leading Private Hospital

In November 2024, the hospital faced an unexpected gas leak that necessitated the immediate shutdown of its two main boilers. The situation posed a serious risk of disruption to patient care and hospital operations, but thanks to our proactive planning and rapid response, we ensured the facility remained fully operational with no cancellations or delays.

This emergency arose on a Sunday afternoon when the hospital team contacted us to report the issue. Fortunately, we had conducted a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for the site just a few months earlier. Armed with detailed knowledge of the hospital’s requirements and infrastructure, we were able to respond immediately, organising the delivery and installation of two temporary boilers without the need for a site survey.

The boiler hire equipment, comprising a 600 kW boiler and a 300 kW boiler, was delivered on Sunday evening and installed overnight by our skilled technicians. Prioritising the installation of the 600-kW boiler first ensured that the hospital’s main building remained operational throughout. The second boiler was connected soon after, providing redundancy and additional heating capacity. By Monday morning, the heating system was fully restored, allowing the hospital to continue operating without interruption.

The swift action we took highlights the importance of proactive planning and effective communication. Having the BCP in place meant we already understood the site’s unique requirements, enabling us to deploy the right equipment quickly. Throughout the process, our team maintained regular contact with the hospital staff, providing updates on delivery and installation progress, ensuring confidence and clarity during a high-pressure situation. Our technicians worked professionally and efficiently, ensuring the installation was completed smoothly and on time. By focusing on the main building’s heating needs first, we were able to protect critical healthcare services and ensure patient comfort, while additional capacity was brought online soon after.
