Founded in 1973 by George Newsome, Newsome has grown into one of the UK’s most experienced specialists in the delivery of industrial temperature and humidity control solutions. For more than five decades, the company has provided heating, cooling and moisture control equipment and specialist rental and maintenance services to a wide range of industries including food and drink, plastics, chemicals, general manufacturing, leisure, building services and pharmaceutical production.

Over the years we have supported many well-known organisations across the UK, including A-Safe, Meadowhall, BASF, Nestlé, McVities and Greencore. Newsome’s Nationwide Environmental Control Solutions from Our Elland Facility and Southern Office

Today we operate from our 30,000 square foot facility in Elland, West Yorkshire and a south of England sales office. The main site serves as the centre for our technical sales, service engineering and equipment hire operations. Its location close to the UK’s main motorway networks allows our teams to respond quickly to customer requirements and deliver nationwide coverage for projects, rental equipment deployment and maintenance support.

From these foundations, Newsome has developed into a nationwide provider of environmental control solutions, delivering engineered systems, temporary equipment and long-term service support to organisations across the UK.

Our history is defined by continuous development. As industrial processes have advanced and environmental standards have tightened, we have invested consistently in new technologies, skilled personnel and operational infrastructure.

Capital Sales and Projects

Our Sales division delivers engineered capital installations, from concept design through to commissioning and handover. We design, supply and install process chillers, industrial cooling systems, air conditioning plant, ventilation systems, industrial heating and humidity control solutions.

Each project begins with detailed load analysis and environmental assessment. Our engineers calculate thermal and moisture loads, evaluate process requirements and design systems that are correctly sized, energy efficient and aligned with operational objectives. We manage procurement, fabrication, installation, controls integration and commissioning under structured project management frameworks. Our capital projects are delivered with full compliance documentation, performance validation and client training to ensure smooth operational transition.

Rental Solutions

Our Rental division provides rapid deployment of temporary environmental control equipment across the UK. We maintain an extensive fleet of industrial chillers, boilers, air conditioning systems, heaters and dehumidifiers ready for immediate mobilisation.

Rental solutions support planned maintenance outages, seasonal demand increases, construction works, emergency breakdown scenarios and capacity shortfalls. Because our rental operations are managed internally, we retain full control over logistics, technical specification and deployment scheduling. All rental projects are supported by technical assessment to ensure the equipment supplied matches the environmental and operational requirements of the site.
