Newsome Delivers Cost-Effective Chiller and Generator Hire for Agricultural Client

Recently, we worked closely with a family-run agricultural business during their busy pea harvesting season, providing a comprehensive generator and chiller hire package that kept their production running smoothly while significantly reducing fuel expenses.
Our client, an established player in the food production industry, has been growing vegetables since 1954 and began freezing their produce in the 1980s. Their factory, which features a freezer tunnel capable of handling 4 tonnes of peas per hour, is a key part of their operation, helping them supply major brands across the UK. As they entered the peak of their harvesting season, they needed reliable cooling solutions to keep their operations running at full capacity.
This year, our solution went beyond just chiller hire. We provided an NR-375 chiller and a 200 kVA generator to maintain the temperature needed for their freezing process. But we didn’t stop there. After discussing their growing concerns around rising diesel costs, we introduced an innovative fuel-saving solution: the Punch Flybrid system. The Flybrid system is designed to store energy when demand is low and reuse it when needed, allowing the generator to run more efficiently. This technology helped our client achieve significant fuel savings, cutting more than £25,000 from their fuel costs over the 12-week rental period. Not only did this help reduce their operating expenses, but it also contributed to lowering their carbon footprint, which is increasingly important for businesses today. In addition to the financial savings, we took full responsibility for managing the generator and fuel logistics. This allowed our client to focus on their core business, knowing that their energy and cooling needs were in expert hands. The NR-375 chiller, combined with the Flybrid-enhanced generator, ensured that their factory could continue processing peas at maximum capacity without any interruptions.
