Newsome Secures Three-Year PPM Contract Extension at Major Confectionery Manufacturing Site

Newsome has secured a three-year extension to its Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract for air conditioning services at a major confectionery manufacturing facility in York via a world-renowned FM provider.

The contract is delivered in partnership with a global leader in food and facilities management, which provides essential services including catering, cleaning and property management across sectors such as corporate, healthcare, education, government and defence. While Newsome has supported the site for the past five years on a rolling annual basis, this is the first time the contract has been awarded for a multi-year term.

The extension reflects sustained performance and consistent service delivery by Newsome’s service team, supporting a wide range of air conditioning systems across production, technical and support areas on site. Reliable operation of these systems is critical to maintaining product quality, process stability and comfortable working conditions within the manufacturing environment.

Under the extended agreement, Newsome will continue to deliver a structured PPM programme aligned with manufacturer guidance and system usage. Routine inspections, performance testing and preventative servicing will be carried out by Newsome’s engineers, with a strong focus on early fault identification, compliance and long-term asset protection.

The three-year term provides greater continuity and long-term planning capability for the client, reducing the need for frequent retendering while ensuring consistent maintenance standards. It also reinforces Newsome’s role as a trusted maintenance partner capable of supporting complex, high-value facilities over the long term.

This appointment highlights Newsome’s ongoing commitment to engineering-led service delivery and its ability to build long-term partnerships through reliability, technical expertise and clear communication.
